I just loved doing the calligraphy. I stayed focused for such a long time. I hope we can do it again.

I really liked doing the Chinese writing. It was a challenge to hold the pen correctly but we tried hard.

Mrs Yang came into our class to help us to learn a little Chinese Calligraphy. We had a special paintbrush and ink that came from Taiwan. We were listening so well.

We counted all of the 'Thank you' stones we have earned. We had over 300 in one week. Wow! That means Mrs Girvan catches us being good, and kind and thoughtful and working hard in class. We love to earn them because it reminds us to think about making good choices and helping each other.

Wow! she

I have made some words from my list. I love learning.

Look how I have made my name using magnetic letters. There wasn't an 'l' long enough so I made one myself.

I have not been at school very long but I know how to be kind and play fairly.

Each day we take it in turns to be the star of the day. We are learning to appreciate what talents we have, the things that make us special and to understand more about how we fit into our class.

Children learn very quickly whether they are treated the way that they would like. Room 8 were able to discuss times in their own lives when people had not treated them fairly.

We have been learning how important it is to be fair. The children wrote about a part of the story that showed that someone did not treat another person with respect. We need to be fair in our life.

We learned that monkeys can work together to share. One of the monkeys had nuts and the other one had a piece of flint but they were separated by glass except for a hole. The monkey with the flint gave it to his friend and he then shared the 6 nuts that he had equally. Great team work.

We are so smart. We can put numbers in order from 1-20. It takes a while to sort them out.

Dominoes are great fun. We can match numbers and learn to count on from the last number.

We are learning how to form an 'm'. "Short stick down short stick up, tunnel, tunnel."

I am working so hard on learning how to form my letters. I like using chalk on a board.

We made a wreath to say thank you to all the people who gave their lives for us.

We remembered all the people who gave up their lives in the wars so we could have freedom.

We learned that the butterfly had a proboscis. We saw it. It was long and thin.

Wow! You are so light on my hand. It tickles.

We were lucky to be able to hold a monarch butterfly. It kept landing on our heads, arms and loved the experience.

We have been learning how to recognise patterns and putting numbers in order using playing cards.

We love to practise writing the words we have learned.

On the way to reading. Yippee!

We have been learning how to use mathematical language. We had to learn above, behind, around, in front under... It is a challenge to remember instructions and then to follow what is asked. We have lots of fun together.
